We are currently right smacked dabbed in the middle of wedding season. I have personally attended two weddings already even though I have been invited to many more, and still have a few more to go this year. To my great luck almost all of them have been held here in cabo! Probably the best destination wedding spot in the northern hemisphere. Who wouldn’t want to have an amazing beach destination wedding in 80 plus degree weather, with gorgeous crystal clear waters, white sandy beaches, colorful flowers and a bit of Mexican flair? Thus this blog post is all about Cabo destination wedding inspiration.
Whether you want a beach wedding or not at all, Cabo is so diverse that anything can be done, even a desert wedding if that’s what you fancy. Let’s dive in to this year’s most popular wedding centerpiece trends. One of the most exciting parts of planning a wedding, other than choosing the perfect dress, has to be the styling of the actual event. Picking flowers, runners, table settings, candles and beyond is very fun and very important. Every table at a reception is adorned with a gorgeous centerpiece, usually consisting of flowers and/or candles. This is where your guests and yourselves will be sitting for most of the event, so a ton of time, with great attention to detail, is put into choosing and creating the perfect centerpiece. This décor element is generally what people pay most attention to and speak of most after and it is your chance to be as creative as you like.
Contrary to what you might think, the ombre trend is still trendy. Especially in centerpieces for weddings where flowers are the predominant element. So, if you love ombre, but are wary of it since many girls are doing the ombre hair trend, or wearing ombre clothing, use it as your creative and stylish idea in your wedding centerpieces.

Ok, our recent blog’s have been about this year’s top wedding trends and one of those trends has to be about wedding dresses right? However, since the wedding dress is one of the most important parts to a wedding, we couldn’t just talk about one wedding dress trend and stick it in with some other topic like food or décor. No! So this blog is, you guessed it, all about this year’s wedding dress trends and some of the most gorgeous gowns we found, and most of them, if not all, would look amazing in a Cabo wedding.

To continue on with our 2013 top ten wedding trends, it is time to talk about cake and wedding cake toppers!! A very big 2013 wedding trend are cake toppers!
The wedding cake is on of the most traditional elements in a wedding reception. This old tradition has been around since Roman times where they would break the cake, or in that time, the loaf of bread baked especially for the occasion, over the brides head. Even though we don’t do that any more (I think) having a wedding cake at ones nuptials is a time honored tradition and so if you are a traditional couple then you should really have a fabulous wedding cake!
Nowadays, newlyweds make the first cake cut together while their guests look onward; a sort-of first task they do together as husband and wife type thing. also modern cakes have evolved and have become super ornate and multi-tiered. Usually people decide to have a three tier cake; the bottom two layers are for the enjoyment of the party guests while the top tier is frozen and saved by the couple with the intention of sharing it on their first wedding anniversary. But you could have as many tiers as you would like and still reserve the top one for you and your one and only. Whatever cake tradition you decide to uphold at your wedding, make sure it is fabulous, just keep in mind that this year wedding cake toppers are very trendy, especially bird toppers!

Wedding season is now in full swing! March is the month where we start seeing nuptials taking over our social calendar. Even though it probably is still a little cold or a lot cold in the U.S., here in Cabo, the weather is fabulous. So you can always plan to come down and have a great beach destination wedding with our help.
On to trends…..In one of our recent blogs we talked about the first two beach adequate 2013 wedding trends. We are always thinking and looking at what would be appropriate and beautiful for a beachy wedding or event in Cabo, since that’s one of the most important reasons our clients choose this destination for their event; the beach!
#3 Ikat print!
Patterns and prints are popping up this season in almost everything we see! I have recently purchased a very bold floral blazer and I feel very on trend. The floral print is the one that’s gotten the most attention and is very in, but another print we love and is also very trendy this season is Ikat. Very bohemian and colorful, it is perfect for a beach style wedding!
The pattern is super versatile and can be paired with bold colors for a more dramatic effect or can be the extra POW if you choose a more neutral and subtle color palette. Plus, even if you choose not to get married on the beach, Ikat feels very Mexican, so if you opt for an hacienda style reception, Ikat could be your most creative idea. And remember the pattern can be used anywhere!
#4 Mint is the color of the season!
If you were tuning in to New York Fashion week, you must have noticed all of that pastel color! Pastels are back! We have been fixed on neon’s for a while but as we also saw on the Oscar red carpet, right now pastels are the way to go. And mint is the trendiest hue. Mint is showing up everywhere, while researching trends, I noticed that my own tennis shoes are mint, so I can say that I am on trend.
I find that every skin tone looks good in a mint hue and if you are having a spring or summer wedding, this color would look very pretty as your main color choice. Plus, it’s a nice break from the ever-popular turquoise or aqua color that has taken over the beach themed color palettes.

February 14th is only a few day’s away and many people are beginning to plan how they are going to pop the question to their significant others; Would you be my valentine for life? Yes, this would be a marriage proposal most likely. If you have already planned how your asking one of the most important questions in your life to the one you love you might decide to get married the same day he or she said yes so don’t stop reading just yet, there is something in here for you too.
If you’re a romantic at heart, a hope-less romantic, a plain old mushy person or a holiday junkie check out these cool ideas for V-day proposals and weddings. Have you ever thought of having mini food stations at your wedding? As opposed to the usual sit down lunch or dinner set up that is very appropriate for a wedding or related event and would be most couples first choice, but if you’re looking for a more casual, cocktail arrangement then mini foods could be the best choice you make! !
Stations set up buffet style, mini foods mean less ingredients and simpler recipes which in turn equal better prices! However, offering simple foods doesn’t mean less delicious, juts means the food must be prepared with a bit more care so every bite is well remembered and enjoyed!
You and your guests can dance the night away while munching on delicious, portable food. If you’re getting married in Cabo and having a beach wedding this might be a great option to consider especially because this way you could literally have your fabulous destination wedding on the sand! Imagine dancing barefoot on the beach!

WEDDING PROPOSAL: ELIAS & LILIANA

A very romantic proposal took place a few weeks ago, right smacked in the middle of wedding proposal season! Elias decided to pop the question to his girlfriend Liliana while they were on a trip attending a friend´s wedding in Los Cabos!! The romantic mood was on and the setting couldn’t have been more special and un-expected!
Elías secretly asked me to rent a beautiful 31 ft Sea Ray Yacht and to assist in the planning of a snorkeling trip in the pristine Cabo Ocean. He wanted the boat to offer its regular service and only have casual snacks and drinks aboard, like chips and beer, so not to provoke suspicion. However, two bottles of champagne and a beautiful flower bouquet were hidden in the boats cabin; Liliana had no idea what was about to happen.
The boat sailed to the cozy bay of Chileno, the perfect place to snorkel and enjoy the warm Cabo waters .They put their fins and mask on and staff members from Baja Outback guided them along the best snorkeling spots and eventually to the shore. The treasure hunt began.
A bottle with a message inside was given to the soon to be bride with the first clue that led her to a small mountain right next to the beach. There she had to find a shell with another message inside which read that she had to look at the end of the cliff where a chest with a big crystal clear ring was waiting! Like right out of a movie!
She found the chest and looked down to see a large banner with the words “Princess would you marry me?” held by camouflaged staff. Happy tears and celebratory screams began followed by champagne served right there, on the spot!
Beautiful pictures of the happy couple with the Cabo sunset and an amazingly romantic proposal made this an unforgettable day! What a an amazing way to propose!
